I am thinking of either getting a sports bike or an adventure bike by honda. I need a bike that is low cost and will be able to take me on a regular 70 mile ride on the interstate to my parents house. Also I am a beginner. Any one have any suggestions? Thanks

To cruise at highway speeds you should be looking for something 500cc+. Because you are a beginner people it may be be that you start on something small like a 250cc bike. These bikes are not the best at highway cruising though. If you want to start out with a bigger bike then check out the Kawasaki Ninja 500, Suzuki GS500 or SV 650 or Honda 599.

Klr 650's are great for commuting, and comfortable. Good value for money.

Ninja 250's are great beginner bikes. They are designed to be comfy, without taking out the sporty look. Handling is great too! But even though this is a practice bike, the performance is superb!

I suggest a v Strom 650. Great for all around use, economical to own and you won't be a beginner for ever and it will be a long time before you outgrow the bike.
